The 4EU+ Alliance has launched the new calls for its SEED4EU+ and Visiting Professorships programmes, reaffirming its commitment to supporting collaborative research and strengthening academic cooperation between its member universities.

Designed to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and academic excellence, both programmes contribute to the Alliance's long-term ambition of building sustainable research partnerships in line with the objectives of the 4EU+ Strategy 2025–2035.

  • SEED4EU+ supports innovative joint research projects involving researchers from 4EU+ member universities. The programme aims to strengthen existing collaborations or initiate new ones with the potential to secure future national, European or international funding.
  • Visiting Professorships enables academic staff to undertake short-term visits to partner universities across the Alliance. By supporting joint research and teaching activities, the programme encourages the exchange of expertise, the development of new skills, and the establishment of long-term academic cooperation.

A new feature of the 2026 edition is the introduction of two funding tracks, allowing researchers at different career stages to benefit from tailored opportunities:

Early Career Line, for researchers between two and ten years after completing their PhD; Standard Line, for researchers more than ten years after PhD completion.

Researchers are invited to apply to one of the two funding calls. Applications are open until 13 October 2026 at 16:00 CEST.
